A Fun Game Show - With Brains!
One of my favorite shows right now is Discovery Channel's Cash Cab. I discovered it completely by accident while flipping around looking for something interesting to watch, and have been a fan ever since. The show is filmed in New York City, where host Ben Bailey (check out his website, TheRealBenBailey), who holds an actual NYC taxi cab driver's license, picks up fares and invites them to play. But riders are warned: Three strikes means they're booted from the cab - whether they've reached their destination or not!

If you're like me and enjoy the game show Jeopardy but wish it was just a little less difficult so you could more easily play along, you'll love Cash Cab. While some passengers/contestants seem to be clueless to even the easiest of questions, others appear to be bonafide geniuses. But, for the most part, typical New York contestants have enough smarts to answer enough trivia questions correctly to emerge from the cab at their destination with a little extra cash in hand.

A Little About the Cabbie
Not only is Bailey the host of Discovery's Cash Cab and Cash Cab: After Dark, he has also received critical raves from show-biz magazines Entertainment Weekly and People Magazine. Ben is also a stand-up comedian who has performed at live comedy shows world wide and on TV shows such as The Tonight Show, The Late Late Show, Last Call, Premium Blend and Tough Crowd, to name just a few. He has also made guest appearances on numerous sitcoms and dramas.

interesting hub. I dont think I have seen any news of this on Discovery but I will do some research and hope to find it.
Actually, I voted yes up above even though I am a fan of Cash Cab. My daughter says I should hang around New York City and try to get on - I am forever doing rather well! I do love shows like that and can remember when many game shows required intelligent answers to difficult, and sometimes easy, questions.
Great hub, and great show! See - I don't just watch CNN! LOL!!! (Actually, I do not watch that much news on CNN, FOX, although I do enjoy Keith Olbermann and Rachel Maddow.)
Dude I love this show! I can never guess the questions though..well, rarely. Great hub though
Hi Constant,
I voted "YES"! Looks interesting to me. I have already checked out the website and the tv listings. I am always looking for interesting things to watch. Thanks, Carol
This sounds like a much more tame versio of a taxi cab show.
I meant that Taxi Cab Confession one, but that is not a trivia show. This one actually sounds like something I would like to watch because I love jeopardy and trivia game shows.
I love cash cab! I actually have known some of the answers! LOL I don't get to watch tv much, but have caught this show several times....always loved it. good hub, constant!
I know all the history, literature, geography, and some of the popular culture questions on Jeopardy. The only place where I get tied up is on science and math based questions. Cash cab sounds fun. I also like Are You Smart Than A Fifth Grader and I wonder how people miss so many questions on that show.
I actually applied to become a contestant on Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader, but I was never selected.
I would love to go on Jeopardy as well, but when it comes to some areas of interest, I do not do so well!
I love game shows, and I catch cash cab once in a while. It's a nice little twist of a game show!
I have to admit that it has been a year since I saw Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader, but last time I saw it the answers people were missing were pretty easy. Wow, surprised a certified genius did not win, but the questions must be harder as time goes by.
Why not have a marrige proposal in an episode. You could get that couple in, and then ask some questions, and then for the last question you turn to the woman and ask her if she would like to marry the guy. When she turns around the guy would have the ring. [ONLY FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE PLANNING TO GET MARRIED] [AND A GUY WHO HAS NOT PROPOSED TO THE GIRL]
Cash Cab has disappeared from central Florida and I am afraid Ben has been swallowed up by one of the many denizens of the deep - simple things like pythons or gators thrown away grown too big to keep in a fish tank; they are thrown casually away by bored nonwatchers of CB. They are on my S### list; this is my all time favorite show in decades and I am desperate. Someone please help! How does one contact the deciders of what goes and what does not go with this show? I need to appeal to somebody.
I love this show! I want to go to NYC just to get in the right cab.
just wanted to let you know that the answer to your question about the golden colored horse with the white or creme mane and tail is not palomino. palomino is a color of a horse not a breed.
