What's Funny
_________________________________________________________________
What makes you laugh? Is it the same thing that will make me laugh? Laughter is one of the greatest gifts bestowed on mankind, but what's funny can differ greatly from person to person. Some people are funny - everybody says so, but that doesn't mean said jokester will me make laugh , or you. Looney Tunes crack me up, but they may do nothing for you. The Three Stooges have been keeping people in tears for decades, but for me, not so much - yeah I know, that's sacrilege. Get over it.. Does Jim Carrey keep your sides aching? Maybe, maybe not. I've known people who were always funny, but it wasn't what they said so much as the way they said it.
Humor in prose may be one of the most difficult aspects of humor. Anyone who's tried to be funny in an email knows that it doesn't always translate well. To write funny is a tricky gift. Do you write what you think your audience will find funny, or do you write what gives you a laugh... and hope it carries over?
Hub Pages has a wellspring of funny, smart ass writers - y'all know who you are. We love 'em! Because we love to laugh. It's therapeutic, and medical science has shown, in many studies, that laughter has numerous healing benefits.
So, what makes us laugh? Is it "Frasier" or Larry the Cable Guy?. What kind of humor floats your boat, tickles your fancy, wiggles your funny bone? Is it intellectual, silly, ironic, smart-ass, slapstick, dry? Sometimes, just a single word is funny. And sometimes, not laughing at what is clearly funny,... is funny.
Here's some words which may or may not make you chuckle. I'm gonna start the list with one of my favorites. Used in the right context, at the right moment, it's almost guaranteed to get you a laugh:

I have seen three stooges and they are hilarious (just like Charlie Chaplin were the best in that era) Btw those baby pictures are sooooo cute. Wonderful hub and hope you are recovering well. I am going to be off from hub pages for a while. Wishing you good health bye take care.
well, at least I can say my wenis is getting larger.
I love the word Amock I think it was made famous by Sarah Jessica Parker, the youngest of the witch sisters in the movie Hocus Pocus when she jumped around on the tarmack halloring 'Amock Amock Amock'
C.W. I love to laugh and my favorite hubs and comments here on hubpages are the ones with wit and humor in them. Life has been such a b*tch that I'm possitive that I would never have made it through this far without finding the funny in everything (not always easy though)
I absolutely love the pictures
great hub again regards Zsuzsy
Funny hub.
no, it's really funny!
LOL i know you are! I have a few favourites already but the mostest would be befuddled! - i mean how does befuddled look like?! LOL
"What are you, daft?!"
No, just addlepated due to crapulous or mundungus. But let's stop this flummery before I ran amuck!
just checking if they could actually be used in a sentence! :D
Have you seen Christoph's Dr. Seuss rhyme this morning? That made me laugh out loud. I agree with Bombeck: without a sense of humor, civilization would be lost. Great word list here -- I'll add eleemosynary (as in "Buddy, could you spare me an eleemosynary contribution?"); dipsomaniacal; hugger-mugger (Hamlet); and myocardial infarction, which I know isn't funny at all when it HAPPENS (my da died of it, after all), but I can't ever say it with a straight face.
Here's Christoph's masterpiece for your further delectation: http://hubpages.com/hub/Random-Poetry-Challenge--D
Those pictures are too cute. :)

lol This was good CW. As of now I have a queer bung. lol. love it!
Let me make it interesting:
I've got a queer bung, and my fingers reek of MUNDUNGUS I'd say I was ADDLEPATED by this, but Im really not seeing that Im a constant smoker.
Ive also got a major WENIS. Ugh, I thought my day couldnt get worse, till I heard that my coworkers were FLUMMERY about me!
hehe. loved this hub.
Hey... yours was better. lol.
Thanks CW loved both the hub and the photos! I am a fan of silly words....
So that is called a wenis. And I have 2 of them!
Keep on hubbing.
Cute babies and funny words. What a combo. I laughed so hard I wore off my right wenis shaking in my chair. Oh, my. Now I'll have to consider wenis replacement. And if so, maybe I can get a larger, longer lasting one. Do you know of any wenis enlargment sites?
Cute and funny! Love the composition with the quotes, pics, etc - the whole shebang.
CW great Hub certainly tickled my funny bone.
The video is a scream too!

Very funny. I often used the word wenis when I was a bit younger...although not in the context of the definition you gave! :)
